Janet has worked in legal technology almost all her working life – even her MBA specialty was ‘competitive advantage in the legal profession’.  After setting up the technology function at Allen & Overy, Janet established a consultancy practice looking at technology services for legal firms.  She joined Berwin Leighton Paisner in 1996 where she was Director of Technology and Infrastructure Services.  She was responsible for technology in its broadest sense, including ecommerce activities, knowledge management services and the building and infrastructure.  She retired from that role at the end of 2014.  She has been the BCS IT Director of the year, The Lawyer IT Director of the year, in 2011 she was given an award for the greatest contribution to legal technology and in 2013 was listed as one of the 20 most influential people in legal technology in Europe.  She established The Adelaide Group, a women in business networking group, in 1997.  The group has held over 100 meetings, has in excess of 1000 members and Cherie Blair is the Honorary Chair.  Janet is Chairman of Governors for a local preparatory school, She is on the board of Roehampton University and the Rose Theatre Kingston  She was the Regional VP for the EMEA region of ILTA and sat on the global board.  She now runs an independent legal consultancy – Janet Day Limited – and is trying unsuccessfully to improve her golf handicap.
