Traditionally, we taught lawyers to read the law, analyze the law, and write like a lawyer. With many state bar associations now requiring technical competence, how do we best prepare tomorrow's lawyers to also think programmatically and service clients using all the tools available to them? How do we provide lawyers the technology skills and a view over the horizon of emerging technologies? How do you explain to your lawyers the world of technology that is available so that they can incorporate the solutions into their practice? In this session, we will discuss tech training models and how certain firms have incorporated practicing attorneys into the process of identifying and developing technology solutions to legal problems.
Takeaways:
- Learn how to effectively develop a plan to (1) maintain the technology skills of attorneys, (2) continually introduce attorneys to developments in legal technology, and (3) foster a culture of technology-mindedness among lawyers.
