Mr. Cohen began his business continuity consulting profession in 1994 with Advanced Technologies Systems (ATS). He has a well rounded background in all aspects of information assurance, and all security disciplines. Mr. Cohen recently supported several law firms’ attaining ISO 27001 certification. Additionally he has assisted cloud service providers in obtaining their Federal government certification under the Federal risk and Authorization Management program (FedRAMP). He has performed business impact analysis, and developed recovery plans for dozens of public and private sector clients throughout the country. His current responsibilities as the Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Service Delivery Manager for Pivot Point Security include; ISO 27001 consulting support, risk assessments, ISO 22301 business development, BIAs, Recovery Strategies Analysis, Recovery Plan development as well as recovery and cyber incident response training.
Mr. Cohen specializes in functional Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Federal Government Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning. His experience spans many industries including healthcare, where he has been published three times regarding recovery planning in the healthcare industry, manufacturing, as well as the Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce and the Department of Homeland Security. He has served on the Mid-Atlantic Disaster Recovery Association (MADRA) Executive Board for over 11 years as a member at large (3 years), secretary (6 years) and President (2 years).
