Caroline Sweeney
Director, Knowledge Management & Innovation, Dorsey & Whitney LLP

Caroline Sweeney has overall accountability for the development, implementation and operation of Dorsey's firm-wide Knowledge Management function, LegalMine Managed Services, eDiscovery services, trial technology support and innovation efforts. Caroline is also a member of Dorsey’s Electronic Discovery Practice Group and the Cybersecurity, Privacy and Social Media Practice Group

As Director of Knowledge Management & Innovation, Caroline is responsible for driving business efficiencies through the use of technologies and content management systems to achieve improved delivery of client services and easy access to information and firm expertise.  In addition, the KM Department drives new revenue and strengthens client relationships through the delivery of new tools and services.  While technology plays a key role in driving efficiency, we also strive for innovative ways to deliver services to clients.

Caroline is actively involved in the e-discovery community. She is ACEDs certified and currently Co-President of the Twin Cities ACEDs chapter. In addition, Caroline is a current member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production and recently joined the Sedona Conference Technology Resource Panel. She is an active member of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and is a past co-chair of the Minnesota E-Discovery Project Working Group 5 on Use of Technology to Facilitate Production of E-Discovery. She has served on a number of e-discovery vendors’ client advisory boards and has experience with a wide array of e-discovery processing and review platforms.

In addition to various software certifications, Caroline has received additional certifications in the areas of Legal Project Management and records and information management, and is also listed in Strathmore’s Who’s Who. She has participated as a presenter and faculty member at various conferences on litigation support and E-discovery, is a current CGOC faculty member, and is a former instructor of “Computers in the Law” at the Minnesota Legal Assistant Institute. In the early 1990s, she was a co-founder of the Minnesota Association of Litigation Support Managers.
